What's the deal with On Air With Ryan Seacrest and interviews?

I can't listen to him during the day because he's from 10-1 on the east coast and I'm in school, so I download the podcast with interviews. But I have school off today and Ryan just said something aboutinterviewing Nicolas Cage, which I've already listened to on the podcast. Is it not live or something? And I know that it's live because he said that it's Tuesday. It's not like Loveline where they play yesterday's/
