Do you agree that the US prospers when the Democrats and Republicans have to share power.?

Actually this is quite a sumptuous question to digest. Politics when shared brings better results because all sides are considered. In our adversarial politics no one benefits apart from the powers that be... They take a vacation for 4/8 years and make millions whilst the party in power continue to stitch up the public, then they get put to pasture to make millions and so it goes on and on..... America is a failing civilization.
